1st Charity Stream recap

The result of my first ever Charity Stream.

Where do I begin? I suppose I’ll start with how humbled I am to not only have raised $600 toward the Stop Soldier Suicide foundation…but the fact that this was my first ever attempt at streaming for a cause other than myself. It was absolutely exhilarating and I am humbled at the results.

The fact that I could sit behind a screen and talk about Men’s Mental Health and share a bit about my past traumas, friends/family I lost to suicide, and more resulted in furthering the agenda of a non-profit organization who’s entire purpose is to help reduce Veteran Suicides? That is the true power behind social media, streaming, or just digital communities in general.

For those who joined me on stream, whether you participated or not, I am truly grateful. You all don’t realize how much each little thing you do helps build the ‘digital kingdom’, as I like to call it. We are finally reaching a point to where we can actually make a difference in the world. Even with my tiny digital following, look at what we accomplished…together.

What’s even better is that the money raised is only one facet of what we accomplished. Mental health is a powerful and serious topic. We broke down barriers, talked about our struggles and how we overcame or continue to overcome them. This is what its all about…getting better - together. For those who shared personal things with me in such a public format - thank you. That takes courage and it helps others see that everyone truly struggles in some way or another.

To the donors, thank you - truly. You will forever live in infamy on my social media pages and throughout time for your generosity. It is more than you deserve, but its what I can do to help recognize your efforts.

Donor names are in no particular order.

I would be remiss if I did not take another opportunity to show love for my personal fallen brothers & sisters as a result of mental health.

RIP little brother - may you find eternal peace.

RIP comrade - Never stop being you, even in the afterlife.

I am excited to do more of these fundraisers & charity streams in the future. I think I’ve found something that helps add meaning to my life and I am ecstatic for what the future holds.

I love you all, Disciples.
